First company to introduce inflated sports balls with a built-in Micro Pump®
In 2001, Spalding revolutionized the entire sporting goods industry by launching a groundbreaking innovation. After 20 months of testing and perfecting. Spalding launched the INFUSION® basketball, the first and only ball with a Built-in Micro Pump®. Totally eliminating the need to find the elusive pump and needle, and introduced a ball that was always ready to play.
2nd generation INFUSION® launched featuring a Dual-Action Micro Pump®
Spalding revolutionized the category yet again. Splading patented INFUSION® technology now featured a Dual-Action Micro Pump®. Players were now able to add or release air from a ball, providing optimum control of air pressure, anytime anywhere.
3rd generation launched…the INFUSION3. Re-designed Micro Pump® adds air twice as fast as before.
Taking INFUSION® to the next level, Spalding introduced the INFUSION3. Now featuring a Max Inflate Micro Pump®, players can add air twice as fast as the original INFUSION®.
The Spalding® INFUSION® basketball meets all the NBA's stringent performance standards. Each ball is precision engineered so that the Built-In Micro Pump® does not affect balance, weight, rebound, size or overall playability of this ball vs. a traditional basketball.
The engineers of the Spalding® completely redesigned the way
a basketball is built. Counterbalance patches were engineered into
the bladder to balance the ball so it will not wobble and ensure
true ball flight.
To offset any added weight, lighter, yet extremely durable rubber
compounds were utilized to keep the weight the same as any
other basketball. The Spalding® INFUSION® patented technology
has been perfected so that the only time you will know there
is a pump inside is when you need it.
The Spalding® INFUSION® is the Official Game Ball of the
WNBA and the NBDL, the NBA's Development League.
To release Micro Pump®, push button down and turn counter clockwise (a coin may be used). When slot in the top of Micro Pump® lines up with U, it will Unlock and pop out. Pull Micro Pump® out about 2" from ball.
To add pressure, grasp Micro Pump®, Push and pull rapidly (one minute adds about 1lb. air pressure). To release air supply, depress button to just below surface of the ball.
When satisfied with air pressure level, press Micro Pump® back into ball so slot lines up with U. Turn button clockwise to L. The button will return to flush and surface of the ball. If button is not flush with surface of the ball, Micro Pump® is not fully locked and could pop out during play. Should this occur, repeat Step 3. Now YOU'RE READY TO PLAY!
