What is Spalding NEVERFLAT?

The Spalding NEVERFLAT^® Basketball is the first ball ever with improved air retention technologies. What is NitroFlate^®?

NitroFlate^® is a proprietary air mixture that Spalding^® uses in the NEVERFLAT^® Basketball. This air mixture which contains both small and large molecules is a key ingredient in the NEVERFLAT^® ball's ability to maintain air pressure 10X longer than traditional basketballs. The larger air molecules cannot seep out through the balls natural pores and actually "block" the smaller air molecules, dramatically slowing their escape.

Does the NEVERFLAT^® ball meet NBA specifications?

Absolutely, the Spalding^® NEVERFLAT^® meets or exceeds the strict standards met by the NBA for product performance including weight, bounce, durability, and balance. I left my NEVERFLAT^® ball outside and it is a bit flat, is there a reason why that might happen?

Just like traditional basketballs, if you stored your NEVERFLAT^® ball in cold conditions, the product will not bounce to the height of a basketball stored at room temperature until it is "warmed up". To ensure optimal performance, always store the Spalding NEVERFLAT^® ball at room temperature.

Will Spalding stand behind this product?

You bet. Spalding^® is so confident in this 10X inflation guarrantee that we are backing it up with a warranty. The NEVERFLAT^® warranty is 12 months from the date of purchase and for the original consumer only. Warranty covers materials and workmanship, provided the ball has been used and cared for properly and not abused, altered or damaged through act or neglect.

I removed the valve cap and/or inserted a needle into the valve before the 12 months have passed. Is the warranty still valid?

No. The warranty is only valid if you do not remove the valve cap and/or add or release air via a standard inflation needle. This is stated both in the sticker that covered the valve when purchased and on the packaging bottom.

Why do I need to keep the valve cap on during the first year?

The valve cap is a critical component of the NEVERFLAT^® ball. This cap eliminates dirt from getting inside the valve chamber. It also ensures the proper balance of NitroFlate^® molecules remains constant.

Is NitroFlate^® dangerous or flammable?

No. NitroFlate^® is harmless and non-flammable. This has been tested and approved by OSHA. The consumer product safety group.

Limited One Year Warranty - Spalding NEVERFLAT^®

Spalding warrants to the original consumer only, that the SPALDING^® NEVERFLAT^® basketball will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during normal use for one year from the original retail purchase date, provided (1) the product has been used and cared for in accordance with instructions accompanying the product and (2) the product has not been abused, altered, or misused, or otherwise damaged through the act or neglect of the consumer or any other user of the product. The warranty with respect to the inflation of the basketball does not apply if the black valve cap is removed or if air is added or released using the inflation needle within one year after purchase. If a defect develops during the warranty period, Spalding will replace the defective product with the same or equivalent product upon prompt return with the original sales slip to Spalding or, if Spalding no longer sells the same or equivalent product, Spalding will refund an amount equal to the original purchase price. To make a warranty claim, call 1-800-SPALDING for instructions and a return authorization from Spalding directly, or send the defective product and the original sales slip together with your name, address, phone number, and description to: Attn: Consumer Services, One Fruit of the Loom Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42102-9015. The consumer is responsible for shipping charges to return the defective product. Spalding will pay shipping charges to send any replacement product to the consumer.

Limitations on Warranty: 1. Warranty claims presented without the original sales slip will be handled at Spalding's sole discretion. 2. Any replacement product will be warranted from the original retail purchase date of the product returned, not from the replacement date. 3. All warranties implied by state law, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are expressly limited to the duration of the limited warranty set forth above. 4. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. With the exception of any warranties implied by the state law as hereby limited, the foregoing limited warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, guaranties, agreements and similar obligations of the manufacturer or seller. 5. Spalding is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages in connection with the use of the SPALDING^® NEVERFLAT^® Basketball. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limit incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. There are no other warranties that extend beyond the face hereof. 6. No person, agent, distributor, dealer or company is authorized to change, modify or extend the terms of this warranty in any manner whatsoever. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that may vary from state to state.
